WUT students awarded for a microhome design
In this year's seventh edition of the international MICROHOME Kingspan Edition competition, organized by Buildner, the jury distinguished the design proposal titled "Masurian Microhome." The authors are students from the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology: Maksymilian Łuszcz, Paweł Wykowski, and Zofia Zimowska.
The prestigious competition attracts architects and architecture students from 115 countries.
On the other hand, Masuria suffers from a lack of stable growth in other sectors, as the absence of large urban centers results in an unfavorable job market for professionals. As a result, most young residents leave the region in search of better career prospects, gradually but systematically depopulating the area.
Through the project, the authors aim to create a sustainable lifestyle model for both locals and newcomers seeking a peaceful life in a picturesque setting with comfortable working conditions. They drew inspiration from the local architectural heritage while also striving to address the challenges facing the development of Masuria.
