Our students are one of the 24 others semifinalists of the challenge, and one of the two teams from Poland.

The competition was really tough. 1628 projects from all over the world were qualified to the challenge in two categories: “New ways of using cars” and “Technological Innovation”.  70 Valeo experts together with independent scientists were engaged in choosing the best projects.

WUT’s team got to the semifinal in “Technological Innovation” category.  Our team consists of Maksymilian Krajewski from the Faculty of Civil Engineering,  Krystian Rosłon from the Faculty of Physics and Mateusz Zaborski from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology.

- Our project concerns warning against icing of a roadway and cooperation with the safety system, based not only on the temperature in surroundings of the car but mainly based on a matter of a state on a roadway – explains Krystian Rosłon. – Every one of us is a student of a different faculty, that is why we can complement each other with experience and knowledge. We have been friends for years that is why there is so much cooperation in the team.

Every team, taking part in the challenge, can test and develop their project till 13th of July 2017. To do so, every team will be given 5 thousand EUR by Valeo. The final eight will be announced on the 13th of September. Best projects will be presented to the jury on 26th of October and next day, winners will be announced. The prize for the best teams (in every category) is 100 thousand Euro. Teams that will take second place will be given 10 thousand EUR.

Valeo Innovation Challenge is a great opportunity to create innovative and useful solutions for automotive industry.
