Warsaw University of Technology enters the world of Fortnite
The Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology in the Fortnite game ‘The Basilisk: Roguelike Hunt in Warsaw’
A new game set in Warsaw has appeared on Fortnite, one of the world’s largest gaming platforms. In ‘The Basilisk: Roguelike Hunt in Warsaw’, players set out in pursuit of the legendary Basilisk. One of the quests takes place in interiors inspired by our University’s Main Building.
In the game, the Basilisk escapes from the mysterious Agency of Oddities and threatens the entire capital. Players must find the creature before it can take over the city. Every element of the map refers to real places, people and legends associated with Warsaw. In this way, the virtual adventure may also encourage players to discover the city in real life by walking its streets. The quests feature, among others, Maria Skłodowska-Curie, Fryderyk Chopin and Tytus Brzozowski. Players visit the Old Town, Royal Łazienki Park, the Vistula riverfront and the Main Building of Warsaw University of Technology. It is inside our building that the final battle takes place.
