We have inaugurated the jubilee academic year 2025/2026
All the best to everyone!
A loud "Gaudeamus" echoed through the Main Building of Warsaw University of Technology, marking the inauguration of a new academic year – this time a special one, as it opens the celebrations of the University’s jubilee.
Traditionally, the inauguration ceremony was opened with a speech by the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology. Professor Krzysztof Zaremba emphasized that our University is home to many outstanding research teams and student scientific associations operating at a very high level. He also pointed out that today’s ceremony marks the beginning of a very special period for the University – the 200th anniversary jubilee, during which we will often refer back to history.
On this special day for our academic community, the numerous invited guests, as well as representatives of the Student Union and the Doctoral Council of WUT, also took the floor.
The key moment of every inauguration is always the matriculation ceremony – the formal admission into the student community. This year was no different. First, representatives of the new students from all Faculties and the PW College took the solemn oath, after which each of them received congratulations and diplomas from the Rector of our University.
The inaugural lecture, entitled "Stanisław Staszic. On the Need for Elites", was delivered by Professor Dagmara Mirowska-Guzel from the Medical University of Warsaw, President of the Warsaw Scientific Society.
To the entire academic community, we extend our wishes that the months ahead bring with them the passion for discovery, the courage to take on challenges, and the satisfaction of building a future rooted in 200 years of tradition. May these words of kindness that have reached us accompany us throughout the jubilee months, giving us strength and inspiration.
