Warsaw University of Technology in the QS WUR 2027 ranking

WUT has moved up in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026.

The QS World University Ranking has been published since 2010

Once again, we have strengthened our presence on the international stage, ranking 504th among 1,504 higher education institutions from 106 countries included in the 23rd edition of the QS World University Rankings (2027 edition). This result places the Warsaw University of Technology among the top 33.4% of universities worldwide featured in the ranking.

The top ten positions in the QS World University Rankings are occupied by institutions from the United States (4), the United Kingdom (4), Switzerland (1), and Singapore (1). The leader remains the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The remaining podium positions are held by Imperial College London and Stanford University, tied for second place. 

This year’s edition of the ranking includes 20 institutions from Poland, of which 9 are technical universities. Alongside WUT, the national leaders are the University of Warsaw (289th globally) and the Jagiellonian University (329th globally). The Warsaw University of Technology has maintained its position as the highest-ranked technical university in Poland. 

The strongest contributor to WUT’s overall score was its performance in the annual QS Global Employer Reputation Survey. The Employer Reputation indicator, based on the opinions of employers and recruiters, accounted for 27.4% of the university’s final score and remains our strongest area. Recognition among academics (Academic Reputation) contributed 27.0% to WUT’s overall ranking score. Other factors shaping our position were: 

  • Faculty–Student Ratio – 17.9%  
  • International Research Network – 8.6%  
  • Sustainability – 8.4%  
  • Citations per Faculty – 5.2%  
  • Employment Outcomes – 2.7%  
  • International Students – 2.3%  
  • International Faculty – 0.6%  

It is also worth noting that WUT’s indicators related to employer reputation and academic reputation are among the highest in Poland, ranking 1st and 3rd nationally, respectively.
