The Computing Centre

The Computing Centre of Warsaw University of Technology was established in 1989 to provide an advanced computing environment for the entire University, to distribute networking and information technology and to continue to improve the quality of education. It is located in the Main Building of the University and has a staff of 20.

The Centre's basic aims are:

  • to provide computational resources for academic and scientific purposes,
  • to build and develop a University Computer Network (electronic mail, www etc. and for remote access to the computer resources spread across the universities via the Internet network -WiFi),
  • to provide a networking centre; the centre is connected via Gigabit Ethernet to the Internet network,
  • to provide services for administrative data processing at the University,
  • to organise training courses for university employees.

Backbone network is working on Cisco Systems Catalyst series routers, switches and firewalls.
The Computer Centre offers various software packages for its users: Mathematica, Matlab, Autodesk, LabView, Abaqus, Ansys, SAS, Statgraphics.
