A new class of high-performance light-emitting materials

The materials were developed by researchers from the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Warsaw University of Technology, under the leadership of Professor Janusz Lewiński. The simplicity of the synthesis process combined with the unique optoelectronic properties of these compounds makes them highly promising candidates for practical applications in optoelectronic devices.

A self-designed and hand-built concrete canoe, dozens of hours of testing, engineering challenges, and sporting excitement – a team of students from the Warsaw University of Technology took part in the international Kraków Concrete Canoe Challenge, placing 6th in every competition category.

The competition, now in its 21st year, recognises outstanding BSc, MSc, and PhD theses aligned with the research scope of the ABB Centre.

Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) has achieved a global ranking of 487th in the prestigious QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) — securing the third-highest position among Polish institutions. This represents a significant rise of 42 places from the previous year and marks WUT's highest-ever position in the history of this ranking.
