Researchers from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology were recognized for their significant contribution to the work of the SCI-281 Solutions Advancing Next Generation Radar Electronic Attack working group. In their work, the team focused on electronic warfare in relation to new radiolocation solutions.

The high scientific level and innovative solutions proposed by the group were highly appreciated by NATO STO, which resulted in the SCI Panel Excelence Award. For two decades, the Warsaw University of Technology has been involved in the work of NATO STO, the coordinator of international research on breakthrough future technologies in the field of defense, which may be implemented within a few years, up to three decades.

Prof. Krzysztof Kulpa, PhD, DSc, manages the Radiolocation Techniques Laboratory on a daily basis, and is also the deputy director of the University Research Center for Defense and Security. He specializes in the field of signal processing using digital techniques, in particular radar signals.

Prof. Mateusz Malanowski, PhD, DSc, is the head of the Passive Radiolocation Team at the Radiolocation Techniques Laboratory. His research interests include digital signal processing and radar location, in particular object detection, parameter estimation, object tracking and radar imaging.

Prof. Piotr Samczyński, PhD, DSc, is the head of the Radar Imaging Techniques Team at the Radar Imaging Techniques Laboratory. Scientifically, he is involved in digital signal processing, radar signal processing, synthetic aperture radars and passive radars.

In February this year, Prof. Samczyński received the NATO SET Panel Early Career Award, and in May, together with Prof. Kulpa won SET Panel Excellence Award.
