Professor Kenneth Joel Shapiro is a graduate of Harvard University and Duke University, an outstanding scientist in the field of psychology and animal psychology, founder and executive director in the Animals and Society Institute in the USA, whose staff study the human-animal relations, correlations between animal cruelty and cruelty towards people, as well as act for animal protection. Professor Shapiro co-created and still sits in editorial boards of renown journals in the field of psychology (Journal of Phenomenological Psychology), society and animals (Journal of Human–Animal Studies).
