A new stage of cooperation: WUT and the Medical University of Warsaw

The two universities aim to strengthen their cooperation by combining their expertise and experience even more closely than before. This integration of their potential is intended to lay the foundations for future federation and to build the position of a regional leader in the field of Engineering – Medicine – Society. The agreement was signed by WUT Rector Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba and MUW Rector Prof. Rafał Krenke.
KEK representatives visit NCBJ and WUT

Representatives of Japan’s High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) visited the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) in Świerk and the Warsaw University of Technology. During their visit, they learned about the progress of work on equipment for the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment and plans for its production.

It is one of the world’s leading events in artificial intelligence and holds the highest scientific ranking, A*. At the conference, our team presented a project that uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

Faculty of Civil Engineering students win The BIM Challenge

Cycling from Poland to Africa: for the Cancer Fighters Foundation

Julia Robak, a student at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology, cycled from Poland to Morocco, raising more than PLN 12,000 for the Cancer Fighters Foundation. Her expedition lasted 43 days and covered nearly 4,000 kilometres.
A visit to an extreme-conditions laboratory

For aspiring physicists, the summer break is an opportunity to gain experience at the world’s leading research centres. In recent months, a team from the WUT Faculty of Physics spent time at several such centres, including GSI/FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) in Darmstadt, where they worked on experiments investigating the properties of nuclear matter under extreme conditions.

The NEXUS project, in which WUT is a consortium partner, has received funding under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2026-02-WIDENING-01 (Twinning) call of the Horizon Europe programme.

WUT Laboratories on the Polish Research Infrastructure Map

Six infrastructures from our University are included on the map. The map is maintained and updated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Warsaw University of Technology in the 2026 Shanghai Ranking

On 15 August 2026, Shanghai Ranking Consultancy presented the results of the latest edition of the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), known as the Shanghai Ranking. The Warsaw University of Technology was ranked in the 901–1000 range (joint 4th place in Poland), maintaining its position from last year.
Results of the Competition for the Prof. Jan Czochralski Award

Results of the 7th edition of the Competition for the Prof. Jan Czochralski Award are now known. The laureates are representatives of Silesian University of Technology, Poznan University of Technology, and the Aleksander Krupkowski Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The competition recognizes the best diploma and doctoral theses, as well as outstanding scientific and/or applied achievements related to the fields of scientific and technical activity represented by the competition’s patron.
2nd edition of the Summer School of Nuclear Energy at WUT has concluded

On August 3–7, the Institute of Heat Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) hosted the 2nd edition of the nationwide Summer School of Nuclear Energy. The event was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy, with its main theme focusing on the nuclear fuel cycle.
WUT projects awarded SONATINA grants

Two researchers from Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) are among the laureates of the 10th edition of the SONATINA competition, organized by the National Science Centre (NCN). Together, they received over PLN 1.5 million to implement their research projects. The competition is targeted at early-career researchers starting their independent scientific paths. In this year's edition, funding totalling over PLN 60 million was awarded to 76 projects.
BIO-PIX: development of next-generation photonic biosensors

Warsaw University of Technology has secured nearly PLN 1 million in funding from the National Science Centre (NCN) under the OPUS competition to implement the research project "BIO-PIX: Biosensing with Photonic Integrated Circuits for Model Biomarker Detection in Inflammatory Pathways." By combining expertise in integrated photonics, fabrication technology, and molecular chemistry, the team aims to develop a new generation of highly sensitive photonic biosensors.
WUT students' UAVs at the SUAS competition in the USA

Members of two student research groups from Warsaw University of Technology—the Robotics Student Research Group (KNR) and the Absolute Edge Student Research Group—are preparing custom-designed unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to participate in the international Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) competition in the United States. Both teams will represent our University, presenting distinct engineering approaches and their respective technological concepts to complete the competition tasks.
