Enactus PW wins Enactus National Cup
The Enactus team at the Warsaw University of Technology has once again emerged as the best in the national final of the Enactus Cup. The team, with its EnergyScope project, outperformed its rivals and will represent our University at the global final, which will take place in mid-November in São Paulo, Brazil.
Electricity costs are currently one of the greatest challenges for Polish businesses. Data show that the vast majority of business owners see them as a serious barrier to running their companies. In response to this problem, our students created EnergyScope – an innovative solution that enables energy to be managed in a sustainable and efficient way.
"It is the first tool of this kind on the market to offer such a comprehensive solution, combining energy consumption analysis, investment recommendations and ongoing infrastructure maintenance support, all powered by AI and built on modern digital twin technology, which makes it possible to create highly precise simulations of processes taking place in a company," explains Róża Rowicka, Enactus WUT Leader.
EnergyScope was founded by Jakub Muszyński, Mikołaj Chwojnicki and Patryk Skibniewski. The project is being developed by a steadily growing group of multidisciplinary students and doctoral candidates associated with Enactus PW. At the national competition, the project was represented by Jakub Muszyński (Co-founder & AI Software Engineer), Magdalena Leymańczyk (Technical AI Manager), Sebastian Rydz (Software Engineer), Weronika Przybył (PR Specialist) and Aleksandra Wieczorek (Software Engineer).
As Róża Rowicka emphasises, the presentation itself went flawlessly, as did the question-and-answer session with the jury. "We were very pleased and proud of the final outcome of our work. In the meantime, we listened to the presentations of other teams and had the opportunity to talk to business experts. From my perspective, this is a particularly important aspect of the competition, because it gives us a chance not only to receive substantive feedback, but also to establish key contacts that help us develop our projects and the entire organisation."
"We take the Enactus National Competition very seriously, as it is one of the key moments in our organisation’s academic year. Last year, we made our debut on the Enactus World Cup stage, representing Poland in Thailand and reaching the semi-finals among the world’s top teams, which gave us even greater motivation to act. For this reason, we prepared extremely thoroughly: dozens of rehearsals, constant refinement of the presentation, pitches in front of mentors and, above all, close coordination between the presenting team and those working behind the scenes. Thanks to such solid preparation, we felt fully ready for the national competition, although the stress before the decisive round never really went away," adds our student. "When the moment came to announce the results, there was absolute euphoria in the audience. (...) We went on stage as the whole team, which is what makes our organisation so unique. Everyone contributed to this distinction and everyone had the opportunity to celebrate this success on the Kinoteka stage."
Our students treat the title they have won as the first step on their path. "There are still many challenges and a great deal of intensive work ahead of us: further development of the project, securing strategic partnerships and funding. We know that the competition will be at the highest level, but as the leader of the organisation I can assure you that in Brazil we will give our best performance and fight for a place on the podium. This World Cup will be a unique opportunity to show what PW students are capable of in the year of our University’s 200th anniversary," says Róża Rowicka.
