Improved QS EECA ranking for WUT
The Warsaw University of Technology has been ranked 15th in the Emerging Europe and Central Asia university ranking. This is a four-spot improvement on the last year’s ranking.
This year, the number of universities included in the ranking has swollen from 200 to 300. Poland is represented by 23 universities – 4 more than a year ago. Out of the Polish universities, two have been ranked higher than the Warsaw University of Technology, i.e. the University of Warsaw (6th place) and the Jagiellonian University (7th place). This means that WUT is the best-ranked Poland’s technical university in the league table.
The QS EECA (Emerging Europe and Central Asia) ranking has been put out since 2014. The ranking is compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a company specializing in education and international studies. They put together the overall QS World University Rankings and a number of regional and subject rankings.
The ranking is based on 10 metrics. These are: academic reputation; employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, papers per faculty; global outlook; web impact; staff with PhD; citations per paper; international student ratio; and international faculty ratio.
