Some things end, others begin. At universities the traditional boundary between what was and what is about to happen is the inauguration of the academic year. Recent years have been marked by unpredictable events and related challenges, not least for our community at the Warsaw University of Technology. So, we look at this new opening with all the more hope. We set ourselves new goals and await new tasks with curiosity. We look particularly warmly at those who are starting their student and doctoral paths at our University. All will be well!

We hope our Large Hall will be filled with students, doctoral students and WUT employees, as well as guests at the official inauguration of the academic year 2023/2024. The Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba, will first welcome everyone and will then deliver his first speech in the new academic year. As always, the solemn moment will be matriculation: the official admission of new students. Representatives of all WUT faculties will take the official oath and receive congratulatory letters.

The first part will be followed by speeches from the President of the Student Government and the President of the Doctoral Council.

The first lecture in the new academic year entitled “Climate crisis: man and nature in close quarters” will be given by prof. Szymon P. Malinowski.

On the eve of the inauguration (1 October) at 8.30 pm – a holy mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Most Holy Saviour at Plac Zbawiciela in Warsaw to mark the beginning of the new academic year at the Warsaw University of Technology.
