Letter from the WUT Rector, Professor Jan Szmidt.

In connection with the announced ordinance of the Prime Minister, we would like to inform you that: 

1. The classes will be suspended from March 12 until April 14 May 15.
2. The validity of student and doctoral cards will be extended by a separate ordinance of the Minister until May 31, 2020. 
3. The libraries are closed
4. Foreign and domestic trips of employees, PhD students and WUT students are suspended
5. All conferences, events and events organized at the Warsaw University of Technology are canceled
6. Foreign guests are not allowed to come to the University.

NOTE: Accommodation for the international students (full-time, Erasmus+, bilateral exchange, other exchanges) in WUT dormitories will be provided throughout the entire period of suspending of teaching activities

Students are obliged to follow closely safety regulations by staying in their places of accommodation and limiting their contacts with other people to essential minimum. Visits from external guests in student dormitories are prohibited.

Previous information for students and employees remains valid:

  1. International trips and arrivals of students, PhD students and employees are being suspended from today onwards until further notice (regulation by the WUT’s Rector).
  2. People who have so far incurred financial liabilities regarding a trip abroad, have to make a decision whether to travel at their own risk. After returning, they should stay home for 2 weeks and work remotely from there. Students are required to stay for 2 weeks in their place of residence and continue education on their own. The deans are obliged to make it possible to make up classes related to the students' absence during this period.
  3. Employees, students and PhD students returning from private trips from foreign countries are obliged to stay home for 2 weeks and work or study there.
  4. In relation to delegations, arrivals and trips abroad, please contact the International Cooperation Center of the Warsaw University of Technology:

 In case any disturbing symptoms are noticed, we recommend to contact the National Health Fund helpline: 800 190 590 (press 6 for English).
