Interstudent 2021
A special award for our student
In the 11th edition of the competition organised by the Educational Foundation Perspektywy, which selects the best international students studying at Polish universities, a special award was given to Aliaksandra Shmyk from the WUT Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering.
The Automatic Control and Robotics student of Belarussian origin is member of the Students’ Space Association SKA; within the association she has worked on a number of challenges, such as construction of a Mars rover for the competitions European Rover Challenge (ERC) and University Rover Challenge (URC), she participated in the remote competition Indian Rover Challenge 2020 and she developed the software of a mobile platform for testing the autonomy of the constructions developed by the Association’s robotics engineers. For one year and a half, Aliaksandra has also been head of the Robotics Section of her students’ association.
In addition to her activities in the SKA Association, Aliaksandra attended numerous events that promoted aerospace issues and she also promoted science by running robotics workshops for children. Despite a lot of activities, including having a job, our student is also a volunteer and cooperates with the Centre for International Cooperation in supporting new students arriving at the university from abroad.
We will soon have the opportunity to see the effects of another task completed by Aliaksandra and her team; they are working on a research experiment needed for their participation in the BEXUS programme of the European Space Agency.
We congratulate Aliaksandra and wish her continued success!
