On July 9, 2020, the European Commission selected the winners of the second edition of the “European Universities” competition. The list of winners includes the ENHANCE consortium (European Universities of Technology Alliance) with Warsaw University of Technology and 6 other universities: from Germany (Technical University of Berlin, University of Technology in Aachen), Sweden (Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg), Norway (Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim), Italy (Polytechnic University of Milan) and Spain (Polytechnic University of Valencia), which are leading technical universities in their respective countries.
The planned multi-annual cooperation between these universities will provide our students with new development opportunities related to studying in a prestigious international environment. The action plan developed by the consortium includes:
- creating infrastructure allowing students to follow flexible European Education Pathways, with a part of the study program pursued at a foreign university,
- gaining – ultimately by each student of Warsaw University of Technology (and every partner university) – international experience in the form of (physical or virtual) mobility,
- implementing innovative project-based teaching methods,
- projects implemented by students in international teams, in cooperation with industrial partners, including companies that are official consortium partners (e.g. Siemens, Volvo, Trenitalia),
- international workshops and summer schools.
The action plan was developed with the participation of students, with WUT students being particularly active in the process. Students will be represented in all bodies making consortium-related decisions; they will also have their own cooperation platform – Student Forum – within the consortium management structure.
