Our researcher is a Finalist of an International Competition
Kamil Załęgowski, PhD, Eng, from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology reached the finals of the 19th edition of the CEMEX Förderpreis Beton Central Europe 2020 competition.
The award has been awarded by CEMEX since 1984. It is very popular among German concrete technologists. It is also a prestigious and important distinction in the field of research on building materials.
The works submitted in the 19th edition of the competition were assessed by an international jury, which selected six finalists from 3 countries. This group includes a researcher from the Warsaw University of Technology.
Kamil Załęgowski, PhD, Eng. from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, presented a paper on concrete technology in the field of designing concrete composites with defined utility. As he points out, "the paper attempts to link the traditional approach to concrete design, based on the relationship between technology and properties, with microstructure analysis involving the search for quantitative relationships between microstructure and properties".
The chairman of the international jury Rolf Breitenbücher, Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing., from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany drew attention to a very high level of the submitted papers. The winners of the competition were Daniel Weger, PhD, Eng, and Venkatesh Naidu Nerella, PhD, Eng, who will share the main prize between themselves.
