Professor Kamila Sałasińska, from the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology, was among 10 researchers from Poland invited to participate in the event "Visit of the Polish Young Scientists", held at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra on 24–26 June 2025.

The visit was part of a long-standing initiative to host promising young researchers from the country holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This tradition fosters international collaboration and offers participants a unique opportunity to explore the activities of the JRC and engage in direct dialogue with its scientists.

The Joint Research Centre is the in-house scientific and analytical service of the European Commission. Its mission is to provide independent, evidence-based scientific support for EU policy-making in key areas of strategic importance to the European Union. In addition to its headquarters in Brussels, the JRC operates five specialized research institutes located in five European countries: Italy (Ispra), Belgium (Geel), Germany (Karlsruhe), the Netherlands (Petten), and Spain (Seville). These centres are equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and unique research infrastructure, and they bring together experts from across Europe and beyond.

– The opportunity to visit the JRC and engage with researchers from various countries is a valuable source of inspiration and a chance to build meaningful scientific connections – said Professor Kamila Sałasińska.
