Our scientist receives a prestigious international award
WUT Professor Mateusz Malanowski Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology won the IEEE AESS Fred Nathanson Memorial Radar Award. This award is granted in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of radiolocation to scientists under 40 years of age.
Our professor was recognized for his “contributions to pioneering research in long-range passive radar sensing, in particular the analysis and synthesis of novel detection and tracking methods”.
Traditionally, the award is presented at one of the most important radiolocation conferences in the world – IEEE International Radar Conference; however, due to the pandemic, the ceremony was postponed until next year.
Professor Malanowski is the second winner of the IEEE AESS Fred Nathanson Memorial Radar Award from Poland. In 2017, the laureate of this prestigious award was WUT Professor Piotr Samczyński Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng., also of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology.
IEEE AESS Fred Nathanson Memorial Radar Award has been granted since 1985. Over the years, its winners have been the leading figures from the field of radiolocation.
