PW-Sat2

PW-Sat2 is the fourth Polish satellite

The launch has been postponed

PW-Sat2 is the fourth Polish satellite. It will be launched into Earth orbit onboard the SpaceX Falcon9 rocket. The launch was originally planned for November 19 at 19.32 Polish time, but has been postponed. We do not know any more details.

PW-Sat2 satellite project began in 2013 at the Students' Space Association (Studenckie Koło Astronautyczne) at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology. The main goal of PW-Sat2 is to test the deorbit technology of a deorbit sail, i.e. to remove the satellite from the orbit after completing its mission. The success of this experiment will allow using the deorbit sail in future space missions and effectively fight the problem of space debris.
