Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2020
Join the Warsaw University of Technology at the online event!
We invite you to participate in the next edition of the event prepared by Perspektywy Education Foundation. Warsaw University of Technology will be among the virtual exhibitors.
Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit is an event that combines scientific and technological topics, whose objective is to strive for an ever better identification and understanding of contemporary problems as well as to attempt to design solutions to them.
An important role in this process is played by technological universities – places where out-of-the-box ideas and projects meeting contemporary societies’ needs are born.
Where and when will this year’s Summit take place?
Due to the pandemic restrictions, the event has been moved online. An e-ticket is all it takes to join the virtual summit on 8 and 9 December and take part in online meetings.
Why is it worth participating in the event?
Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit is a very wide-ranging event, which attracts participants looking for concrete knowledge but also for inspiration. Warsaw University of Technology could not have missed out. Who will represent our University?
- The perspective of a scientist and ICT specialist will be presented by Prof. Krzysztof Szczypiorski of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, head of POB Research Centre Cybersecurity and data analysis created as part of the Excellence Initiative – Research University program (IDUB), a researcher with a maverick approach (you are welcome to explore the StegIbiza project, i.e. an overview of the method to hide confidential information in music). We invite you to the Cybersecurity in times of crisis panel (9 December, 14:35).
- The Warsaw University of Technology Career Services Office will cover the topic of professional activity. The team provides consultations to people who would like to make a smart link between their educational plans and professional career.
- To candidates from abroad our stand provides materials that will help them make the decision whether to start their studies at WUT. WUT female students from India and Mongolia will share their experience with the visitors.
What else is worth noting in this year’s edition?
- current issues – artificial intelligence development, 5G revolution, big data, machine learning, cybersecurity, climate crisis – Women in Tech Summit organizers know what captures people’s attention, also in the tech world. The event is meant to help raise this awareness among the widest possible community and encourage informed and brave actions in the aforementioned areas.
- specialists – there are people behind each technology – researchers, visionaries, entrepreneurs who understand the role of science in shaping their business, as well as decision-makers who remove barriers to development. During the Summit, we will have the opportunity to get a closer look at these personalities, be inspired by their successes and understand their sources. We will meet, among others:
- Anna Lee Fisher, doctor, chemist and astronaut, who took part in the NASA’s STS-51A mission;
- Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth;
- Georgette Mosbacher, US ambassador to Poland;
- as well as representatives of giants such as Microsoft, Facebook, Goldman Sachs, Intel, Amazon, Cisco, Google and others.
- career – as part of Career Expo, participants will get to meet representatives of the world’s best tech companies and take part in consultations. Before the meeting, it’s worth preparing your CV and LinkedIn account.
- workshops – a real treat for those who value hard facts. A full list of workshops along with descriptions can be found at womenintechsummit.pl/agenda. Important information: enrolment to classes starts on 28 November and limited places are available.
