Picnic of the Warsaw University of Technology
It will be a day full of fun, science and surprises. On June 3, 2023, you are invited to the BIS parking lot (at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, opposite the Main Building). Admission is free of charge.
Our picnic will be enjoyed by people of all ages – children, adolescents, adults. Both outdoor fun lovers and science enthusiasts will find something for themselves. We have also prepared something for cinema fans – an outdoor film screening.
Animation zone (11.00-16.00)
Children should especially find workshops and animations appealing.
How to make interesting and original artistic works from the prepared materials? And we will show it! And, it goes without saying, participants will be able to take the fruit of their work with them.
Exercise is health! If anyone likes to go crazy on a bouncer, they'll be given such a chance. We will also invite you to have fun together. There will be activities for the youngest and competitions involving the whole family.
There will also be popcorn and… something sweet.
Learning zone (11.00-16.00)
How does it work? But why like this? Guides to the fascinating world of engineering will be science circles from the Warsaw University of Technology. Students will show their projects (including robots, motorcycles, rocket launchers, rovers, planes, installations, mock-ups and 3D printers). They will present interesting experiments, share knowledge, praise successes, invite you to jointly test theories in practice and to participate in competitions.
At the stalls of science circles, no science enthusiast is likely to get bored!
Cinema area (21.30-00.00)
After visiting the animation and learning zones, there will be time for a moment of relaxation. Before the facilities of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, there will be sun loungers and a large screen. All in one place – to watch the movie "The Fabelmans". This is the latest work by the legendary director Steven Spielberg, with autobiographical threads, appreciated by seven Oscar nominations this year. The film tells the story of growing up Sammy Fabelman – a sensitive teenager, a great lover of cinema and a beginner filmmaker. Sammy accidentally learns a dramatic family secret and discovers that the cinema helps us discover the truth about our loved ones and ourselves in an extraordinary way. The cast includes Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen and Gabriel LaBelle.
Join us for a "From micro to macro" ("Od mikro do makro") picnic!
