The Senate of the Warsaw University of Technology, expressing the common position of the academic community of the Warsaw University of Technology, fully sympathizes with the Ukrainian Nation at a dramatic moment in history and strongly condemns the unlawful, brutal attack of the Russian Federation on the free and sovereign state of Ukraine.

We strongly oppose actions that violate international law and the principles of humanitarianism. In Europe, which was affected by the drama of World War II, the actions of the Russian authorities cause a legitimate concern for the future of the continent and democratic European societies. In this situation, we clearly stand by Ukraine, our neighbour, with which we share common values and dreams.

The Senate fully supports the statement of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Academic Schools, the Central Council of Science and Higher Education, the Polish Academy of Sciences, the conference of vocational schools, doctoral and student organizations published on February 24, 2022 in connection with Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

We appeal to the academic and scientific circles of the Russian Federation to strongly and unequivocally condemn the war being waged against Ukraine. We are convinced that your unequivocal opposition to Russia's military action and your call for a ceasefire, the opening of peace talks and the withdrawal of the aggressor forces can be of great importance to world peace.

In solidarity with Ukrainian researchers and academics, the Senate of the Warsaw University of Technology supports the position of the Ministry of Education and Science and recommends suspending cooperation with Russian universities and research centres until the end of military operations and the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine.

The Senate of the Warsaw University of Technology advocates the urgent adoption of legal regulations to help Ukrainian researchers, academics, PhD students and students who, as a result of the Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine, found shelter in Poland.

Сенат Варшавської політехніки, який оголосив загальну позицію академічної спільноти Варшавської політехніки, повністю виражає солідарність Українській  нації в драматичний момент історії і рішуче засуджує незаконний, жорстокий напад Російської Федерації на вільну та суверенну державу, таку як Україна.

Ми рішуче виступаємо проти дій, які порушують міжнародне право та принципи гуманітаризму. У Європі, досвідченій трагедією Другої світової війни, дії російської влади викликають законні занепокоєння щодо майбутнього континенту та демократичних європейських суспільств. У цій ситуації ми однозначно стаємо на бік України, нашого сусіда, з яким поділяємо спільні цінності та мрії.

Сенат повністю підтримує опубліковану 24 лютого 2022 року заяву Конференції Ректорів Академічних Шкіл Польщі, Головної Ради Науки і Вищої Освіти, Польської Академії Наук, конференцій професійно-технічних навчальних закладів, докторських та студентських організацій у зв’язку з агресією Росії проти України.

Звертаємося до академічних і наукових кіл Російської Федерації з проханням твердо і однозначно засудити війну проти України. Ми переконані, що ваше однозначне заперечення збройним діям, які проводить Росія та ваш заклик до припинення вогню, початку мирних переговорів і виведення сил агресора може мати велике значення для миру у всьому світі.

На знак солідарності з українськими науковцями та викладачами, Сенат Варшавської політехніки підтримує позицію Міністерства освіти і науки та рекомендує призупинити співпрацю з російськими університетами та науковими центрами до закінчення військових дій та виведення російських військ з території України.   

Сенат Варшавської політехніки підтримує термінове прийняття законодавчих актів для допомоги українським науковцям, викладачам, аспірантам та студентам, які внаслідок агресії Російської Федерації проти України знайшли притулок у Польщі.
