Teaching and research cooperation – these were the main topics raised during the meeting between the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba and the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Lithuania, Nagma M. Mallick.

India’s Ambassador to Poland visited our University on 21 September 2022. With the WUT Rector, the Ambassador primarily discussed the exchange of students and researchers. They also agreed that in November, together with WUT’s Centre for International Cooperation, the Indian Embassy will organize a meeting with the participation of the Ambassador and the Indian community from our University.

WUT’s Indian community is very numerous and active. In the last academic year, it consisted of 223 students, 18 doctoral students and 12 employees. Students from India are the largest group among WUT student ambassadors, who promote our University among international candidates and help new students during their first days in Warsaw. They are also eager to join other initiatives: language tandems run by the Warsaw University of Technology as part of the ENHANCE consortium, social media campaigns supporting mobility, and competitions. In May, two of our students from India won the ENHANCE Challenge for their idea of a chatbot integrated with the consortium’s IT infrastructure and the Freeroom project aimed at providing the administration with up-to-date information about free rooms at the university. The competition featured international teams composed of students from ENHANCE-affiliated universities.

The meeting of the Ambassador and our Rector was also attended by the Second Secretary of the Embassy for Consular Affairs and Culture, Krishnendu Banerjee, and the Director of WUT’s Centre for International Cooperation, Grzegorz Robak.
