Without a doubt, the members of the WUT SiMRacing Team Research Group can count the Slovakiaring racetrack among their lucky ones.

The four-person team of students, together with a driver, faced the challenge of competing in the much attended Sport250 class on a track that was new to the driver. Gradual progress from lap to lap, unaffected by a minor glitch in one of the first training sessions, allowed the students to take second place in the race and move up as many as four positions in comparison to the qualification training.

The last round of Slovakia Championship and the Polish Motorcycle Championship was the first time that the student WUT SiMRacing Team entered a competition in 2020. For the first time during the international stage of the competition, Jan Biniewicz, a member and founder of the team and a PhD student at the Faculty of Automotive and Construction Machinery Engineering (SiMR), sat behind the wheel. The racing motorcycle which took part in the competition was designed from scratch by the members of the Research Group.

Just like last year, the SiMRacing Team finished the race on the podium.
