WUT Christmas Market is over!
We would like to thank everyone who visited our event and supported the fundraiser for the Christmas Grant for students and doctoral students of the Warsaw University of Technology. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have raised a record amount of PLN 33,794.
In the WUT Xmas stall, you could, according to the tradition, purchase university gadgets in exchange for a donation, including iconic socks, mugs, cups, bags, hats, gloves, games, Christmas decorations, gingerbreads, Rector's Honey from the WUT apiary in CEZAMAT, or the original WUT tableware from 50 years ago. For the first time, employees, students, and doctoral students produced and presented their handicrafts. We do not need better proof that there is no shortage of artistic talents and people with great hearts in our community.
On the first day of the Market, we met the winners of this year's edition of the Christmas Grant. Fifteen people were distinguished: Aleksandra Bandzerewicz, Łukasz Biedrowski, Daryna Budiakivska, Kinga Hernet, Julia Janiszewska, Mateusz Kajkowski, Krzysztof Kolankowski, Julia Kosińska, Agnieszka Łukasiak, Maria Muszyńska, Rafał Nowicki, Adrianna Piasek, Agata Popis, Priyanka Roy Chowdhury, and Mike Ryan.
Diplomas and awards were presented to the winners by the WUT Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba, Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, Chancellor Jolanta Ewartowska, PhD, and President of the Social Commission of the Students' Council, Ewa Ziętek.
The Deans and Vice-Deans of the Faculties received special Christmas deliveries of Christmas trees and a set of WUT ornaments from the Rector. Prof. Zaremba emphasized that it is a symbol of our entire University's unity. The initiative was another novelty in the Market's program.
With the unveiling of new Main Building decorations, including new illumination and Christmas trees decorated with, among other things, WUT ornaments, the start of the Christmas season at the Warsaw University of Technology was officially marked. The new decorations will accompany us for the next few weeks.
Even though the Market is over, we hope that the holiday spirit will stay with us for a long time – possibly even until the next edition of our event?
