The Polish Hercules title and statuette are awarded by the Editorial Board and Scientific Council of the Builder monthly to companies, organizations and their heads for outstanding merit and renown in the building industry, and to individuals who have made an impact on Poland’s construction landscape through their activities.

* The Polish Hercules Golden Statuette winner, Adam Pykiel is the CEO of Port Praski Sp. z o.o. and a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology. He is an expert in water engineering and hydrotechnical construction. He has over 40 years of experience in managing construction projects both at home and abroad.

* The Polish Hercules Silver Statuette winner, Jarosław Kujawa is a Partner at Buro Happold and one of the most experienced engineering designers in Poland. His 40 years of practice in project design and execution for private and public project owners at home and abroad has earned him credit as a high-class expert. He is a graduate from the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Environmental Engineering.

The Industry’s Personality is a special title awarded by the Editorial Board and Scientific Council of the Builder monthly to heads of companies who are distinguished personalities in the industry for efficient management, successful enhancement of their companies’ potential and competitive edge and for an entrepreneurial spirit and business intuition and support for initiatives of importance to the industry’s growth.

Graduates of the Warsaw University of Technology who have received the honor this year are:

* Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys – Architect/Partner and Board Member of APA Wojciechowski Architekci and Vice-President and Environment and Climate Protection Team Lead at the Association of Polish Architects (SARP). She is a graduate from the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Architecture.

* Witold Szymanik – CEO of WSC Witold Szymanik i S-ka Sp. z o.o. He is a great contributor to the promotion of BIM in Poland. He combines promotional and awareness-raising activities with an active business career. For nearly 25 years, he has headed up WSC, one of the leading BIM implementation companies on the Polish market. He is an architect, graduate from the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Architecture and member of the Chamber of Architects of Poland (IARP) and the Association of Polish Architects (SARP).

* Jarosław Wielopolski – CEO and Managing Director of Multiconsult Polska since 2015. He has worked for the Company since 2012. He is a graduate from the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Civil Engineering.

* Paweł Wierzbicki – CEO of Schindler Polska. Professionally active since 1996, he is a leader who is not afraid of change. As a mechanical engineer, he has worked in the broadly-defined building industry for over a dozen years. He is a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology.

The title of the Industry’s Personality was also awarded to our scholars: Prof. dr hab. inż. arch. Jan Słyk, Vice-Rector for Studies, and Prof. dr hab. inż. Andrzej Garbacz, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
