More than 120 participants from all ten partner universities of the ENHANCE European Universities consortium (which includes our university) took part in the regular meeting aimed at summarising the work completed so far and planning the next steps. Warsaw University of Technology hosted the gathering, which took place from 2 to 4 December 2025.

The event was opened by the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba. In his opening remarks, he emphasised that for the second time WUT organised such a high‑level meeting with the participation of the leadership and key stakeholder groups of the ENHANCE consortium. Each of these meetings has taken place at a pivotal moment for the consortium. The first one, held just after the pandemic, was an opportunity to summarise joint activities and set strategic directions for development. This time, for the first time, the meeting was attended by representatives of Gdańsk University of Technology, ETH Zurich and TU Delft –  universities that joined the expanded ENHANCE consortium in 2023.

A key part of the event was the interdisciplinary ENHANCE Conversations panel. Its focus was on shaping Europe’s future through alliances of technical universities. The participants discussed how alliances of European technical universities within the European Commission’s “European Universities” initiative can play a crucial role in strengthening Europe’s competitiveness and technological sovereignty. The panel brought together representatives from academia, policy and industry: Vanessa Debiais‑Sainton (member of the cabinet of European Commission Vice‑President Roxana Mînzatu), Dr Łukasz Gołota (Deputy Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange), Dr Rafal Bugyi (President of TRUMPF Hüttinger Polska) and Dr Sandra Andraszewicz (Chair of Cognitive Science, ETH Zurich), with active engagement from the audience.

During the ENHANCE Summit, the partners reviewed the key activities carried out jointly by the member universities and presented proposals for actions that should be continued in the next phase of cooperation. The innovative format of the specialist and combined sessions enabled in‑depth, substantive discussion. The participants also discussed the European Commission’s requirements for the upcoming project proposal and the organisation of the work needed to prepare it.

During the ENHANCE Summit, the ENHANCE Steering Committee met with the participation of the WUT Vice‑Rector for Studies, Prof. Jan Słyk, and representatives of seven key stakeholder groups (Core Officers, Work Package Leads, Education Officers, Academic Teachers, Language and Professional Tandems Coordinators, doctoral candidates and students). Three‑day workshops for four of these stakeholder groups were coordinated by staff from Warsaw University of Technology. Academic teachers from all consortium universities worked in six thematic groups to develop a joint offer of new short learning formats (summer schools and winter schools), which will be delivered at WUT and across the ENHANCE consortium in 2026–2027.
