WUT in the QS International Rankings by Subject 2018
The Warsaw University of Technology has been classified in the first place in Poland in its key area (Engineering & Technology) in the QS Rankings by Subject. WUT also took second place in Natural Sciences in our country.
WUT is now the 206th in the world in Engineering & Technology. It overtook Wroclaw University of Technology (348th place), AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow (places 401-450) and the University of Warsaw (also places 401-450). For this area, the creators of the ranking include six specific disciplines: information technology and systems, chemical engineering, land and structural engineering, electrical engineering and electronics, machine building and mining. Our University is listed in five of them, including four in the first place in Poland.
In Natural Sciences WUT is 228th in the world. Lower positions were held by the Jagiellonian University (235th place), AGH University of Science and Technology (354th place), the Polish Academy of Sciences (383rd place), the University of Wroclaw (places 451-500) and the Wroclaw University of Technology (also places 451-500). The Natural Science area includes seven disciplines: chemistry, earth sciences and oceanography, environmental sciences, geography, materials science, mathematics, physics and astronomy. The Warsaw University of Technology is classified in four of them, one in the first position in Poland.
The ranking’s creators have studied more than 4,500 universities from 75 countries.
The QS Rankings by Subject belong to the group of rankings prepared by Quacquarelli Symonds, an international tertiary education expert. The main (overall) QS ranking is one of the four most important educational rankings in the world, next to such rankings as Times Higher Education, Shanghai Ranking, and U-Multirank.
