WUT supports the development of nuclear energy
More students in nuclear energy-related fields – this is the main goal of the agreement concluded between the Warsaw University of Technology, the University of Warsaw, and the International Institute of Nuclear Energy.
Both universities and the French Institute (I2EN) will work together to demonstrate the value of the nuclear sector. As a result, they hope to increase the number of students in nuclear-related fields who will later work in research sector, regulatory bodies, or in the nuclear industry.
Activities planned include support for the development of specialized courses in the field of nuclear energy, dual diploma programmes, exchanges with French universities and technical colleges, and the organization of seminars for students presenting numerous opportunities for professional development in the nuclear energy sector.
The training of proficient staff is crucial to the success of Poland's nuclear programme.
– The universities with which we have signed agreements not only educate future nuclear energy experts but also provide many other skills that will be required to fulfill Poland's nuclear energy development aspirations. As a French partner, we hope to contribute to this success – stressed Karen Daifuku, Director of the I2EN.
The agreement was concluded on April 28, 2022, in the presence of Frédéric Billet, the French Ambassador to Poland. On behalf of the Warsaw University of Technology, the document was signed by Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, Vice-Rector for Research.
