WUT tops the EngiRank
EngiRank, i.e. the European Ranking of Engineering Programs, has been put together by the Perspektywy Education Foundation in partnership with the Foundation for the Development of the Education System – FRSE. This the first release of this listing.
The ranking compared 81 institutions of higher education in 12 European countries (Poland, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia). The ranking’s authors used data across 15 indicators grouped into five categories: research effectiveness (20%), innovation (35%), quality of teaching (20%), prestige (5%) and internationalization (20%).
Four other Polish universities were ranked in the top places beside the winning Warsaw University of Technology. These are:
- AGH University of Science and Technology, Kraków – 2nd place;
- Lodz University of Technology – 6th place;
- Wrocław University of Science and Technology – 6th place;
- Military University of Technology, Warsaw – 8th place.
EngiRank by Subject uses two categories of data: research effectiveness (80%) and quality of teaching (20%). The categories look at 6 indicators. The ranking by subject includes 149 universities in 13 countries.
The Warsaw University of Technology topped the Medical Engineering category. Two other universities in Poland have made it to the top five in this discipline: Gdańsk University of Technology (2nd place) and Lodz University of Technology (5th place).
The Warsaw University of Technology was ranked in the top of several other EngiRank by Subject rankings, taking the 2nd spot in Material Engineering, the 3rd spot in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering & Information Engineering and the 4th spot in two subjects: Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
