For the eleventh time in a row, Warsaw University of Technology outperformed the University of Warsaw in a rowing eights race. The competition between the capital’s two universities was the main highlight of the Warsaw River Race held on 24 October 2020 on the Żerański Canal.

The WUT’s winning crew included Maciej Koperski, Stanisław Krasuski, Łukasz Suchocki, Bartłomiej Gzowski, Tomasz Miazga, Krzysztof Balcerzak, Ignacy Nojek, Bartłomiej Paczek and coxswain Małgorzata Kurcjusz.

It took the WUT rowers 3 minutes and 8 seconds to cover a distance of 1000 meters – 25 seconds less than their competitors from the University of Warsaw.

The rowing regatta between the WUT and the UoW is compared to the famous Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. Warsaw held the event for the 69th time.
