The creation of the Network opens up new opportunities for cooperation and development

Eight institutions, including our University, will create a Network of Autonomous Technology Polygons (SPTA). The letter of intent in this matter was signed on 9 June 2022 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Infrastructure. The Warsaw University of Technology was represented there by the Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba.

SPTA is a joint activity of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Warsaw University of Technology, Maritime University of Szczecin, Poznan University of Technology, Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, Civil Aviation Office, Polish Air Navigation Services Agency and Polish Chamber of Unmanned Systems. The main objective of the initiative is to support the development of technology of unmanned systems and stimulate scientific and research, as well as business cooperation by providing specialized test infrastructure.

The Warsaw University of Technology offers the use of the new Aerospace Research Centre, located at the University's airport in Sieraków next to Przasnysz, as part of the Network. The research is currently conducted by researchers and students from the following faculties: Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography.
