Warsaw University of Technology ranked in QS by Subject
We have managed to retain our position as the best university in Poland for Engineering & Technology and the third place for Natural Sciences. The rankings for both subjects included 502 universities in 52 countries.
Two universities in Poland are listed in the QS by Subject: Engineering & Technology ranking. These are the Warsaw University of Technology ranked 237th and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology ranked 380th.
This broad subject area comprises six specific disciplines: Computer Science and Information Systems; Chemical Engineering; Civil and Structural Engineering; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Mechanical Engineering and Mineral and Mining Engineering. Our University has received a ranking in five of them, including a No. 1 ranking in Poland in four of those.
- Computer Science and Information Systems: 2nd place.
- Chemical Engineering: 1st place.
- Civil and Structural Engineering: 1st place.
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering: 1st place.
- Mechanical Engineering: 1st place.
The Warsaw University of Technology was ranked 258th in the world in Natural Sciences. This means an improvement by 16 spots on the last year’s ranking. Seven institutions of higher education in Poland have made it to the listing. Two of them placed higher than WUT. These are: the University of Warsaw (175th place) and the Jagiellonian University, Kraków (242nd place).
The following seven disciplines make up the broad subject area of Natural Sciences: Chemistry; Earth and Marine Sciences; Environmental Studies; Geography; Materials Sciences; Mathematics; and Physics and Astronomy. The Warsaw University of Technology has received a ranking in four of them, including a No. 1 ranking in Poland in two of those.

- Mathematics: 3rd place.
- Physics and Astronomy: 3rd place.
The QS by Subject ranking is one of the family of rankings put together by Quacquarelli Symonds, an international expert in higher education. The QS Overall Ranking is one of the four key world education rankings, the other being the Times Higher Education, the Shanghai Ranking and the U-Multirank.
