The process
2018
Preparatory Stage: submission of a declaration of support for the principles and recommendations set out in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The Team for the Implementation of the Principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers was established (Decision No. 69/2018 of the Rector of WUT), along with twenty Proxies for the implementation of the HRS4R Strategy and the OTM-R policy.
Substantive supervision of the Team’s work was provided by Prof. Wojciech Wawrzyński, Vice-Rector for General Affairs.
2019
Submission of the application documentation to the European Commission, including the Action Plan and the HRS4R Strategy.
2020
Optimization of the process for maintaining the HR Excellence in Research award: appointment of the Rector’s Representative for the implementation of the HRS4R Strategy, as well as the establishment of the Steering Committee, the Monitoring Group, and the Team for the Implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) and the OTM-R Policy at Warsaw University of Technology (Decisions No. 18/2022 and 19/2022 of the Rector of WUT).
2020-2022
Implementation of the HRS4R Action Plan 2020–2022 was carried out by the dedicated Team with the active support of organizational units of Warsaw University of Technology. The work covered 20 tasks addressing issues related to recruitment processes, research career development, and the improvement of organizational processes.
In 2022, a survey of the University community was conducted, which helped with further specification of directions of actions and identification of areas requiring improvement. The results of the survey were presented in a report.
2023
Receiving Interim Assessment Report and extension of the HR Excellence in Research award for a further three years. At the same time, implementation of the HRS4R Action Plan for 2023–2025 was initiated.
Appointment of the Rector’s Representative for the implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) was appointed (Decision No. 338/2023 of the Rector of WUT of 15 December 2023).
2023-2025
Implementation of the revised HRS4R Action Plan 2023–2025, which included 11 tasks related to areas of scientific excellence, jointly carried out by the dedicated Team and the organizational units of Warsaw University of Technology.
Update of the Gender Equality Plan at WUT to align its timeframe with the WUT Development Strategy until 2030.
2025
Developing a plan for designing the new HRS4R Action Plan for 2026–2028, including conducting internal monitoring of the progress of ongoing activities.
Appointment of the Rector’s Representative for the implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) (Decision No. 288/2025 of the Rector of WUT of 10 December 2025) and the establishment of the Team in a new structure (Decision No. 278/2025 of the Rector of WUT).
Due to the overlapping areas of HRS4R and the Gender Equality Plan (GEP), instead of two separate teams a single body was established: a Working Group (for the implementation of HRS4R and GEP) supported by an Advisory Council providing consultation on the matters od HRS4R and GEP.
