Agnieszka Kucharska, PhD, from the Faculty of Management at Warsaw University of Technology has been honoured with the prestigious international 2025 SAS Educator Award. WUT Students Win Special Award in MICROHOME Competition

Students from Warsaw University of Technology have earned a special award for Best Student Project in this year's international MICROHOME architecture competition. Their winning design, titled "First Aid Kit," was created by Łukasz Michał Danilczuk, Ewa Helena Maniak, and Karolina Maria Rorat. The competition challenged participants to design a self-sufficient, 25-square-meter modular dwelling for two people.
Prof. Krzysztof Kulpa Awarded Prestigious IEEE Fellow Title

At the RADAR 2026 conference in Atlanta, USA, Prof. Krzysztof Kulpa was honoured with the IEEE Fellow certificate—a distinction reserved for outstanding IEEE members whose contributions have significantly advanced science and technology while demonstrating exceptional international impact. He is the first Polish scholar to receive this title within the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society.

The Astronautics Student Research Group (SKA) and the Robotics Student Research Group (KNR), both operating within the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, have qualified for the finals of the University Rover Challenge 2025 (URC) – the world’s most prestigious student competition in space robotics.
Four podium finishes for the SAE AeroDesign Student Research Group

The SAE AeroDesign Student Research Group, operating within the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, has returned with great success from the international SAE Aero Design 2025 competition in the United States. The team competed in two categories—Advanced and Micro—and secured four medals, including two golds in the most demanding Advanced class.

Can the worlds of engineering, technology, and art be combined? It turns out—they absolutely can! This is being demonstrated by students from two Warsaw universities—the Warsaw University of Technology and the Academy of Fine Arts—who joined forces to create the Vaporeware exhibition. The exhibition is organized by the 3D and Virtual Occurrences Studio at the Faculty of Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, together with the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. Members of the Students' Robotics Association at the WUT collaborated on the scientific and technical aspects of part of the exhibition.

Antonio Vassallo, PhD, from the Division of Philosophy and Ethics in Administration at the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences, is carrying out a research project titled "A Machian Framework for Quantum Physics." The research, funded by the National Science Centre under the OPUS grant, will last three years and has a budget of PLN 1.2 million.
Aviation innovations through science–industry cooperation

LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services is implementing a product innovation focused on eliminating the currently used chemical and mechanical technologies for removing paint coatings from aluminum and composite primary and secondary aircraft structures. Researchers who reverse-engineered the V-1 and V-2 rockets were honored

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. On this occasion, on May 8, we pay special tribute to researchers from the Warsaw University of Technology who, several decades ago, reverse-engineered the design of the V-1 and V-2 rockets. Flowers were laid at the monument dedicated to their memory, located in front of the Electronics Building in Nowowiejska Street.
New solutions in water purification and hydrogen production

A team led by Marta Mazurkiewicz-Pawlicka, PhD, from the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, will carry out the project entitled “Advanced hybrid nanomaterials for efficient photo(electro)catalytic water purification and hydrogen production.” The project is funded under the M-ERA.NET call.
