UAV GeoLAB – a team of unmanned aerial vehicle enthusiasts from WUT

At the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography at Warsaw University of Technology, a group of young researchers, known as UAV GeoLAB, focuses on their passion for flying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones, to perform terrain measurement and imaging. They have successfully completed numerous outstanding projects.

CLGE Young Surveyors Contest 2024 – award ceremony

A doctoral candidate from the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography of the Warsaw University of Technology, Paweł Czernic, MSc, took the first place in CLGE Young Surveyors Contest 2024 in the Bachelor and Master’s Degree Category. The award ceremony was held on 25 September 2024 during the INTERGEO conference in Stuttgart.

WUT in the ranking Times Higher Education WUR 2025

Times Higher Education World University Ranking has been published since 2014.

In the latest edition of the ranking, the Warsaw University of Technology, like last year, was ranked 1201–1500. At the same time, the University got a higher number of points compared with last year.

DIEGO project – the key to sustainable energy management in industry

Warsaw University of Technology, as a partner research institution, actively participates in the international DIEGO project. Its main goal is to develop digital solutions for sustainable, energy-efficient, and economically viable management of energy infrastructure in industrial plants. The solutions of the DIEGO project are being implemented and launched in five pilot installations in various locations across four participating countries: Poland, Germany, Austria, and Israel.

Our student with a bronze medal of World Judo Juniors Championships

Karolina Siennicka, a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, won a bronze medal at the World Judo Juniors Championships. The Polish athlete competed in the under 57 kg weight category, which included a total of 43 contenders.

Operating Room Simulator – A State-of-the-art Laboratory at WUT

A state-of-the-art Operating Room Simulation Laboratory has been established at WUT’s Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering. It is one of three unique and best-equipped research centers of this kind in Europe.

WUT MakerSpace – A place where technical ideas turn into prototypes

EasyGreen is a startup founded by a group of WUT graduates. The team has just completed work on a unique project—a hydroponic pot for growing herbs at home. The project was developed as part of the Mentoring Program, run by WUT's Careers Service, in cooperation with mentor Dawid Adach.

The latest ranking World’s TOP 2% Scientists includes 77 academics from the Warsaw University of Technology. This is as many as 18 people more than last year. The list is prepared by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier and SciTech Strategies.

The ribbon cutting ceremony

On September 18, this year, the renovated building of the Institute of Heat Engineering at WUT was officially opened for use. The ceremony marking the completion of the project was attended by representatives from the University's authorities, the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, Budimex—the general contractor of the project—and invited guests. The event took place at the Institute of Heat Engineering building at Nowowiejska Street in Warsaw.

A team from the WUT’s Faculty of Physics has published an article in Nature detailing the first experimental observation of an antihypernucleus. The research was conducted as part of the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Our physicists, in collaboration with experts from Warsaw, Katowice, and Łódź, have investigated graphene-based nanocomposites that could be used in radiation protection materials. The results of their research have been published in Scientific Reports.
