The Association of Alumni and Friends of Warsaw University of Technology was founded in 2001.

Its aim is to care for the welfare and development of the University through the following activities:

  • strengthening the scientific and educational rank of the University, promoting its achievements and achievements of its graduates, as well as presenting its image in Poland and abroad;
  • cooperation with the academic authorities in order to adapt the study curricula to the demands of modern technologies which enable the development of various sectors of the economy;
  • collection of funds and granting scholarships for the most talented students, Ph.D. students and employees of Warsaw University of Technology;
  • co-creation of information programmes for study candidates and providing advice for University students and graduates looking for jobs;
  • undertaking activities among entrepreneurs with the aim of gaining financial support for the research and teaching activities of the University in relation to the expectations of the industry and the market;
  • maintaining a friendly community of the University by keeping in touch with WUT graduates who live in Poland and abroad;
  • making regular contact with alumni associations of renown technical universities in the world.

Additionally, as part of creating and maintaining the prestige of the University, the Association started the ”Golden Book of Graduates”, which is a form of distinction of Warsaw University of Technology graduates of merit for science on the world scale. Each year during a celebration, the Association awards graduates with Golden Book diplomas and statues for outstanding professional achievements.

Thanks to the efforts of graduates who are members of the Association, in 2009 the Foundation of Warsaw University of Technology was established.
