What happened at our University in April? Here are the highlights of the month.

The programme aims to increase the research potential of the Warsaw University of Technology. It is realized as part of the Excellence Initiative – Research University Programme.

The new project by the Robotics Research Group (KNR) team has two main prizes in the national Student Construction Competition under its belt. Let’s take a closer look at OKOŃ!

Our students among the finalists

Hubert Buczyński was among the laureates of the 1^st National Competition for the best diploma thesis (BA/BSc or MA thesis) on passenger aviation and cargo transport.

A letter of intent between WUT and Hawk-e was signed on April 12, 2021. The agreement concerns cooperation in the field of unmanned systems technology and is related to the Aviation Research Center of the Warsaw University of Technology, which is being built at the airport in Przasnysz.

WUT was ranked the 686^th (up 31 places) in the international CWUR (The Center for World University Ranking). We took the fifth position in Poland, three universities and one research institute were classified ahead of us.

The representatives of the Warsaw University of Technology delighted the jury with their performance of the mazurka from The Haunted Manor, which took place in December 2019, as part of the show “I am not creating anything new. In tribute to Stanisław Moniuszko on the 200^th anniversary of his birth".

It sounds like dreams of drivers and road administrators come true. Our scientists are contributing to the project. Research is underway.

Four top places were taken by representatives of the Warsaw University of Technology in the national Student Structures Competition (KOKOS).

The seat of our University is not only WUT’s symbol but it is also an important monument in Warsaw. Now restoration work is underway in order to bring back the beauty of the decorative elements of the building and its surrounding area.

The Warsaw University of Technology and “Łucznik” Arms Factory Radom LLC have established cooperation in the field of research and development, consulting, expert as well as design and implementation works. The agreement in this matter was signed on April 22nd this year.

On Thursday (29th of April), the International Office of Warsaw University of Technology will take part in the Virtual Education Fairs for Africa organized by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

A special award for our student

The International Students Office kindly invites all international candidates for studies at WUT from Arab countries for virtual education fairs organized on April 22 by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Warsaw University of Technology will be one of 50 Polish universities taking part in the fairs.

Kamil Załęgowski, PhD, Eng, from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology reached the finals of the 19^th edition of the CEMEX Förderpreis Beton Central Europe 2020 competition. 

They started working on the project in October 2018. As they admit, they were inspired by the successes of their older fellow students - the creators of PW-Sat - the first Polish satellite in space and PW-Sat2, which successfully tested the deorbital sail - a possible solution to the problem of space debris. The project of the SOWA team associated with the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology was recognised in the Detroit Waterfront District competition.

The WAPW Academic Association and the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology cordially invite you to the lecture in the "About Architecture" series organized as part of A-Academy's activities. Ryo Abe from his own studio AARA will be the guest. 

The award is granted by the European Commission within the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers – HRS4R, aimed at increasing the attractiveness of working conditions, career development, mobility, and substantative and financial support for research projects.

Due to the announced lifting of some restrictions in Poland, as of 5 May 2021, the WUT Rector’s letter of 26 March 2021 shall expire. As of that day, the Warsaw University of Technology shall work in accordance with restrictions level two.

A few years ago, Ewelina Zaremba studied aeronautical and aerospace engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, where she created the 3D Printing Research Circle and was its head for a year. Today she is among the finalists of the third edition of the ”25 under 25” competition, honouring talented people under the age of 25.
