A team of researchers associated with the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology are working on a dedicated solution. 

From 18 to 20 January 2021, Warsaw University of Technology co-organised the first online “CESAER Professional Week” conference. Its main organizer was the CESAER. Our University has been a member of this association since 2005.    

The funds will be spent to develop the research infrastructure and to set up a unique research and development center.

Prof. dr hab. inż. Małgorzata Kujawińska and prof. dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Patorski from the Faculty of Mechatronics (precisely from the Department of Photonic Engineering, Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics) are among the winners of scientific awards granted by the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE).

High school students creating genius solutions to make life easier for others? If you think this may happen only in movies or in other countries, be ready for a surprise. This invention was created in Poland, just around the corner. 

The Warsaw University of Technology ranked third in Poland in terms of the highest number of most-cited researchers in 2019. We have achieved this owing to our 42 academics ranked among two percent of the world’s most-cited scientists.

The Rector of Warsaw University of Technology Professor Krzysztof Zaremba took part in the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the ENHANCE Alliance being part of the “European universities” project. The meeting took place on the 11^th of January 2021.

This year’s virtual Christmas event organized by the One Day foundation saw the launch of the Usamodzielnieni app. It is a tool developed by a WUT team to support young adults leaving educational care facilities and starting an independent life as adults.

Students from the Power Engineers Research Group at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering are keeping up the momentum and raking in more awards. This time, they were recognized in the international competition entitled: “Offshore Windfarms: Development Trends and Visions” organized by the Maritime Academy in Szczecin.

Mgr inż. Jakub Kutyła, who graduated from the WUT Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 2020, came in second in the international competition entitled: “Offshore Windfarms: Development Trends and Visions” organized by the Maritime University in Szczecin and the Marshall’s Office of the Western Pomerania Region, in collaboration with the Polish Wind Energy Association.

At its session held on 16 December 2020, the Senate of the Warsaw University of Technology elected the members of the University Council for the 2021-2024 term in office.

Places dominated by concrete surfaces appear environmentally unfriendly and seem to be at odds with the sustainable development ideal. A project by the WUT Faculty of Civil Engineering and F.B.I. Tasbud S.A. may change this perception – all thanks to innovative precast surface elements.

The challenge was taken up by the international MOCOS (MOdelling COronavirus Spread) interdisciplinary team established by Professor Tyll Kruger of the Wrocław University of Technology. Project participants include the MI2DataLab group headed by dr. hab. inż. Przemysław Biecek, Warsaw University of Technology Professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science.

Recalling the key highlights of what happened at the Warsaw University of Technology

Are long lines in front of COVID-19 testing stations something we just need to get used to? A consortium including the Center for Advanced Materials and Technologies (CEZAMAT) and WUT Faculty of Chemistry has embarked on a project which might help ease the burden on the diagnostic system.

Our University has been ranked 12th in a ranking of the best higher education facilities in Emerging Europe and Central Asia. We have moved two places up from last year’s ranking.

Mgr inż. Konrad Aleksiejuk, who graduated in Applied Automation and Robotics from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology, came in second in the Master’s Thesis category.

It was a very special day – On 6 December 2019 the Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology hosted the premiere of e-MaksPower, a vehicle built by our students for a 10 year-old automobile fan suffering from muscle atrophy. Christmas wishes from the WUT Rector

All benches located by the fountain on our Central Campus have been assigned a patron. Thus, we have completed a three-year project, implemented under the “The Independent” (“Niepodległa”) Programme.

The Warsaw University of Technology has become one of the 10 beneficiaries of the prestigious “STER – Internationalization of Doctoral Schools” programme of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). The program, scheduled to last 3 years, is aimed at increasing international cooperation of WUT Doctoral Schools.

The engine uses fuel gases which have not been combusted in piston engines before. It is distinguished by its exceptionally high efficiency and therefore low CO₂ emission rate. This is the engine that is being developed by researchers from the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) and their partners from the industry.
