Inuaguration meeting of the Academic Year 2016/2017 at Warsaw University of Technology for foreign students coming to Warsaw to study in English at our university and under the various international exchange programs, especially Erasmus + took place on 4th October 2016.

The STEM4youth programme’s main goal is to show jobs available to STEM graduates and to illustrate how the development of such courses results in gains for the economy and society. That's why researchers from several EU countries, coordinated by scientists from the Warsaw University of Technology, are developing an e-learning platform and teaching materials, which will show that it pays to study the sciences.

For many years chemists struggled with creating a simple and efficient method of manufacturing stable quantum dots susceptible to functionalization while retaining their unique luminescent properties. Spontap – The Only Such Application in the World

Five students – two from the Warsaw University of Technology, and three from the Warsaw School of Economics – have created an application that allows people to easily and quickly learn about interesting events organized nearby. Spontap is already being used by approximately 5-6 thousand citizens of a dozen of Polish cities, and by 300-400 event organizers, and the authors have been receiving suggestions that the idea warrants an international release.

The team working on the development of blood substitute describe it as a milky-white odourless suspension and compare it to milk. Prof. Tomasz Ciach says jokingly that upon special request they will also produce blue blood. It is under his supervision that artificial blood was created at the Warsaw University of Technology. The team are in the process of refining the invention and they intend to patent it.

Józef Kosacki – an engineer at the fronts of WWII

Kosacki started his studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology in 1928 to obtain the degree of an electrical engineer five years later. However, the biggest challenge of his lifetime was still ahead. His mine detector was a significant contribution to the Allied victory in WWII.
