The new project of the Warsaw University of Technology, "Research and Application Center for Terahertz Technologies CENTERA2", will be conducted in the laboratories of the Center for Advanced Materials and Technologies (CEZAMAT) under the leadership of Prof. Wojciech Knap and Prof. Marek Potemski.

The company Bechtel Poland and the Warsaw University of Technology have signed a cooperation agreement on launching a career development programme in the field of nuclear power engineering. The aim of the programme is to, among other things, educate specialists who will support the development of the Polish nuclear power sector, including the project of construction and maintenance of the first Polish nuclear power plant in the Choczewo community in the pomorskie region.

More than 130 representatives of the ten ENHANCE+ partner universities met in Berlin on February 22-23, 2024, to officially inaugurate the new phase of the project. It continues the activities carried out by the Warsaw University of Technology and the partner universities in the ENHANCE project in 2020-2023. The implementation time of ENHANCE+ covers the years 2023-2027.

The project of Professor Mariusz Zdrojek from the Faculty of Physics was awarded funding from the National Science Centre within the competition PRELUDIUM BIS 5. The scientist, with a PhD student, will deal with synthesis of 2D semiconductors for innovative applications in electronics.

Experts from Poland, Finland, Norway, Latvia, Slovenia and Spain are joining forces to reduce carbon emissions in the construction industry and cut the need for new raw materials. The Polish part of the Ti-ReX project is led by Dr Jan Pełczyński from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology, and the coordinator of the entire project is Dr Katarzyna Ostapska – a representative of the Norwegian organization SINTEF and a graduate of Warsaw University of Technology.

What can be done to support cities in their strive towards climate neutrality? This is the main aim of the project CapaCITIES. The initiative brings together over 60 entities from 25 partner countries and 6 supporting countries. In Poland it is led by the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute and the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography of the Warsaw University of Technology.
