The new project of the Warsaw University of Technology, "Research and Application Center for Terahertz Technologies CENTERA2", will be conducted in the laboratories of the Center for Advanced Materials and Technologies (CEZAMAT) under the leadership of Prof. Wojciech Knap and Prof. Marek Potemski.

Improved efficiency, greater environmental friendliness, and independence from non-European production – that's the plan for a new product in the battery market. The company Bechtel Poland and the Warsaw University of Technology have signed a cooperation agreement on launching a career development programme in the field of nuclear power engineering. The aim of the programme is to, among other things, educate specialists who will support the development of the Polish nuclear power sector, including the project of construction and maintenance of the first Polish nuclear power plant in the Choczewo community in the pomorskie region.

It is to be sustainable, yet fast, efficient, and reliable. How can this effect be achieved? The answer may be... rail. As part of the UrbFRail project, tools are being developed that will improve the creation and revitalization of freight rail hubs in cities.

Marek Kania from the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering won two medals at the Academic World Championships in speed skating, which were held in Hamar, Norway (22-25 February 2024). 

More than 130 representatives of the ten ENHANCE+ partner universities met in Berlin on February 22-23, 2024, to officially inaugurate the new phase of the project. The mid-term evaluation results of the first edition of the "Excellence Initiative – Research University" (IDUB) programme are made public. Experts positively evaluated all the participating universities, including the Warsaw University of Technology.

On February 7, 2024 the lists of candidates admitted to the Doctoral School of the Warsaw University of Technology were published on the Doctoral School’s website.

Experts from Poland, Finland, Norway, Latvia, Slovenia and Spain are joining forces to reduce carbon emissions in the construction industry and cut the need for new raw materials. The Polish part of the Ti-ReX project is led by Dr Jan Pełczyński from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology, and the coordinator of the entire project is Dr Katarzyna Ostapska – a representative of the Norwegian organization SINTEF and a graduate of Warsaw University of Technology.

The ranking lists of candidates to the Doctoral School of the Warsaw University of Technology are available. Now candidates are obliged to admit required documents until February 4, 2024.

What can be done to support cities in their strive towards climate neutrality? This is the main aim of the project CapaCITIES. The initiative brings together over 60 entities from 25 partner countries and 6 supporting countries. In Poland it is led by the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute and the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography of the Warsaw University of Technology.
