Success of our student research clubs

Lifting the restrictions related to the COVID-19 epidemic in Poland also means changes at the Warsaw University of Technology. The present restrictions are laid down in Rector’s Regulation no. 110/2021 along with the changes introduced in Rector’s Regulation no. 25/2022, and the recommendations are included in Rector’s notice no. 2/2022.

The Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering's Robotics Student Research Group (Koło Naukowe Robotyków) took third place in this year's Carolo-Master-Cup@Home, a competition of miniature autonomous cars.

"LIvE SAVER" – is the name of a remote-controlled mobile robot that will assist the fire brigade in rescue operations. It was designed by Piotr Kurządkowski, a student at the WUT's Faculty of Mechatronics and a volunteer firefighter.

Researchers at the Warsaw University of Technology have developed a technology that protects any surface from harmful microorganisms. The solution uses bioactive nanoparticle composites applied in the form of a permanent coating.

MedTech-Athon - a marathon of work on own research ideas, submitted by teams of PhD students is launched at the Warsaw University of Technology. The expected results of the work are the concepts of practical solutions ordemonstrators for medicine, developed by the teams.

The Polish sprinting team won the world championship's silver medal. Marek Kania, a student at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, was a member of the team.

Our University has a new Chancellor. Jolanta Ewartowska, ThD, was elected to this position in the competition.

Donations brought to the central collection point at the Main Building by our community have been delivered to the Polish Red Cross. They will then be delivered to the Polish-Ukrainian border to reach those who need them the most.

They approached the pandemic with an engineering mindset. They have come up with a project to mitigate some of its effects. They won the James Dyson Award and recently had the opportunity to present their idea at the Expo in Dubai. Mike Ryan from WUT's Faculty of Mechatronics and Aleksander Trakul from the University of Edinburgh prove that great ideas have no limits.

Our neighbors need concrete and fast help. Warsaw University of Technology is raising money which will be transferred to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) through Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK). The NBU will use the funds to allocate them to the necessary activities.

The Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology has set up a crisis management team whose purpose is to plan and manage the implementation of coordinated and systemic aid activities of the University for the Ukrainian nation and members of our academic community from Ukraine.

In the Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology there is a central collection point, where we collect long-term storage food, cosmetics and chemicals, bandages, new blankets and sleeping bags (a detailed list below).

Karol Abratkiewicz, from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, was awarded the Travel Award in Remote Sensors and Radar Sensors. This award is granted to PhD students and postdoctoral interns with outstanding research achievements.
