The issue is serious. Ice formation and build-up can be a lethal danger in many spheres of life. The risk is still greater if icing occurs on aerodynamic surfaces of aircraft flying at a high speed or on wind turbines, or on key parts of electrical wiring. Rafał Kozera, DSc, Eng. of the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, has an idea how to solve this problem.

The Inauguration Ceremony of the Academic Year 2019/2020 took place on the  1st of October in the Main Building of the Warsaw University of Technology.

In Poland, the average household size has been on the decline for several years now. According to the forecasts of the Central Statistical Office from 2016, it will continue on a downward trend in the next decade. What is the quality of life of people living on a single income? A research project on this subject was conducted by Marlena Piekut, DSc, Eng., from the College of Economics and Social Sciences of the Warsaw University of Technology Branch in Płock.

An unusual game has been developed at the WUT Faculty of Mechatronics, enabling the player to travel around the city on a wheelchair. The goal of the app is to make the able-bodied aware of the difficulties that disabled persons have to face every day in the urban space.

What solutions do students test in their vehicles?

Beside the Robotics Student Research Group, this year’s University Rover Challenge finals will see the representatives of the Astronautic Student Research Group (“SKA”). We sat with Michał Hałoń, the Autonomy Team Leader, to ask him about the preparations for the event at SKA and what can be expected of their rover, Sirius.

The Warsaw University of Technology will be represented by as many as two teams in this year’s University Rover Challenge Finals, an international competition of student-built Mars rovers. The qualified teams both operate at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering; these are the Robotics Student Research Group (“KNR”) and the Astronautic Student Research Group (“SKA”). An update on the innovative project

No piece of wisdom goes to waste at the Chemical and Process Engineering Student Research Group (KN IChiP). The accumulated knowledge and experience pass from generation to generation of members. Perhaps, this is the key to the growing popularity of their annual multidisciplinary European Young Engineers Conference. We sat to talk about this event with Olga (Coordinator of the 8th EYEC), Justyna (Social Media Coordinator and Board Member of KN IChiP) and Hania (Logistics Coordinator).

The recently won cups are proof that the team of the WUT SiMRacing Student Research Group operating at the Faculty of Automotive and Construction Machine Engineering (SiMR) have done a great job on their racing motorcycle.

Developed by a team of the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, the Comixify algorithm for converting video to comic is a real hit. The authors have been very busy over the last few months advancing their project and it has already claimed some awards.
