An unusual game has been developed at the WUT Faculty of Mechatronics, enabling the player to travel around the city on a wheelchair. The goal of the app is to make the able-bodied aware of the difficulties that disabled persons have to face every day in the urban space.

The concept proposed by a Polish-German consortium would offer savings and reduced pollution. On-board the REWARD project are scientists of the Warsaw University of Technology’s Faculty of Chemistry and Process Engineering.

It is the fourteenth time in the history of Shell Eco-marathon that a team from the Student Association for Vehicle Aerodynamics (SKAP) at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering participated in this sports event. Sleepless nights, constant brainstorming sessions and hectoliters of coffee – this is how the Proton Dynamic team members summed up the two-year process which led them to achieve their desired goal, that is the creation of the Student Formula electric bolide.

Talented secondary school students from several dozen countries are competing against each other in 2019 International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT), or a team-oriented competition asking the contestants to creatively solve the proposed problems in physics. The Warsaw University of Technology is the host of this year’s event.

Scientists of the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Chemistry and Process Engineering use graphene oxide and graphene-related compounds to develop new materials for infrared radiation protection. Their IR-GRAPH Project was funded by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).

What solutions do students test in their vehicles?

Beside the Robotics Student Research Group, this year’s University Rover Challenge finals will see the representatives of the Astronautic Student Research Group (“SKA”). We sat with Michał Hałoń, the Autonomy Team Leader, to ask him about the preparations for the event at SKA and what can be expected of their rover, Sirius.

The Warsaw University of Technology will be represented by as many as two teams in this year’s University Rover Challenge Finals, an international competition of student-built Mars rovers. The qualified teams both operate at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering; these are the Robotics Student Research Group (“KNR”) and the Astronautic Student Research Group (“SKA”). An update on the innovative project

No piece of wisdom goes to waste at the Chemical and Process Engineering Student Research Group (KN IChiP). The accumulated knowledge and experience pass from generation to generation of members. Perhaps, this is the key to the growing popularity of their annual multidisciplinary European Young Engineers Conference. We sat to talk about this event with Olga (Coordinator of the 8th EYEC), Justyna (Social Media Coordinator and Board Member of KN IChiP) and Hania (Logistics Coordinator).

The recently won cups are proof that the team of the WUT SiMRacing Student Research Group operating at the Faculty of Automotive and Construction Machine Engineering (SiMR) have done a great job on their racing motorcycle.

Developed by a team of the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, the Comixify algorithm for converting video to comic is a real hit. The authors have been very busy over the last few months advancing their project and it has already claimed some awards.

A team led by Agnieszka Siemion, Ph.D., Eng., of the Warsaw University of Technology Faculty of Physics is working on optical systems for a real-time human skin imaging device designed to detect cancer lesions. The T-SKIN project received funding under the LEADER Program managed by the National Centre for Research and Development.

Scientists, business and technology parks of eight countries along the Baltic shores are working on a project known as BalticLSC (Baltic Large-Scale Computing) to improve the efficient use of high-performance computing. The Warsaw University of Technology is the Consortium Leader.
