During the election sitting on 25 June 2020, the Electoral College elected Professor Krzysztof Zaremba, Phd, DSc, for the post of the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology for the 2020–2024 term.

Dr hab. Dariusz Plewczyński, Principal Investigator of Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics, the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Sciences at Warsaw University of Technology became a laureate of the first edition of the PRELUDIUM BIS NCN (panel ST6).

SAE AeroDesign WUT Team research group won medals in aircraft competition

Our students won two second place awards in this year’s SAE Aero Design 2020 WEST - which was unusual since held online. Jury recognised our students for their engineering solutions in the Micro class category.

Another improvement of QS ranking for WUT

The Warsaw University of Technology ranked at 511-520 in the latest ranking of the world’s top universities. This marks an improvement of the university’s raking as last year WUT was among the universities classified at positions 521-530. It is worth pointing out that the WUT was ranked 156 worldwide in the employer reputation category, which is the best result in Poland.

ENHANCE– a joint European campus

Meeting

On February 26, 2020, the ENHANCE consortium of 7 technical universities: the Warsaw University of Technology, the Technical University of Berlin, RTWH in Aachen, Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, the Polytechnic University of Milan and the Polytechnic University of Valencia submitted an application under the European Commission’s European Universities initiative.

GKP Aero: an innovative WUT spin-off at the Przasnysz airfield

WUT Professor Mateusz Malanowski Ph.D., D.Sc., Eng. of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology won the IEEE AESS Fred Nathanson Memorial Radar Award. This award is granted in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of radiolocation to scientists under 40 years of age.

The international T2K neutrino physics experiment (Tokai to Kamiokande) has published conclusions from the results of its research in the prestigious scientific journal “Nature” [1]. The authors include a large group of Poles, including team members from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology, headed by Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba. Beside him, the co-authors are: Doctor Robert Kurjata, Doctor Andrzej Rychter and Marcin Ziembicki, MSc.
